This Years Race

The fifth anniversary of the opening of the down stream Taw Bridge was again celebrated by The Three Bridges Fun Run with a total of 115 runners taking part. The race was started off at Ladies Mile in Rock Park by a cannon shot from the Barnstaple Sea Cadets. The runners followed the route around Rock Park and over the Rolle Quay, Taw and Long bridges.

This  year The Barnstaple Lions Club was raising money for North Devon Hospice and is already over £1,000 with sponsorships still coming in all the time.

Finishing their run the competitors were handed medals and encouragement by the Mayor Councillor Ian Roome and Ali Hunt head of fundraising from North Devon Hospice.

The Barnstaple Lions would like to say a big thank you to all the Marshals,  the great job of the Soroptimists running the late entry desk, also the Tomlinson family,  Floor One Fitness for the warm up, The Barnstaple Sea Cadets for the starting gun, St. John’s Ambulance for first aid cover, the Mayor and Ali Hunt.

2012 Race Cancelled

Unfortunately due to a lack of response this years race is now cancelled.

Our apologies to those who have entered but the financial commitment  to organise the event could not be justified.

We hope to return in 2013
