• Start at Ladies Mile, turn right following along the back path of Rock Park, turn right and follow the river into Taw Vale, pass the Park Hotel and the Imperial Hotel to the back (river side) of the Museum.  
• Go under the tunnel, pass the rear of the Old Barnstaple Bus Station Café.
• Follow  the path in front of Pathfields.
• Pass the Civic Centre to Bridge 1 at Rolle Quay.
• Follow the path under the Taw Bridge until you see the signpost for Bideford, turn right onto this path and follow until you get to Bridge 2, go over the Taw Bridge making sure you stay on footpaths only.
• Turn right on the other side of the bridge and follow the path under the Western By-Pass.
• Follow this path until you get to the Long Bridge, Bridge 3, staying on the left hand side of the bridge when crossing.
• Turn left into The Strand, turn left again around the Bridge Buildings, then left again to go under the tunnel, coming out at the back of the Museum.
• Follow path back into Rock Park, go past the War Memorial on your right,
• Follow the path back onto Ladies Mile to the Finish.
